Spaces is named one of Asia’s most beautiful places to work

Recently, the South China Morning Post declared Spaces Hennessy Road in Hong Kong to be one of the most beautiful luxury co-working spaces in Asia . We don’t mean to brag, but being listed as one of the best-looking flexible office spaces on an entire continent is a pretty big deal – and we’re really happy that one of our five locations is being recognised for its eye-pleasing credentials.

This got us thinking – what are the things that make a co-working space beautiful? There’s more to life than looks. But, given the choice, would you rather spend your working day somewhere beautiful or in an office space that’s just a bit more…The kind of place that you can’t wait to show your friends or, better yet, your clientsrather than keeping the place you lay your laptop a mysterious secret? Here’s what we believe makes a workspace truly beautiful.

Minimalism

Let’s start with Spaces Hennessy Road as an example (seeing as it’s just been singled out as especially beautiful). It’s located in Wan Chai, Hong Kong’s vibrant commercial district, abundant in noodle bars, tech stores and nightlife. However, as soon as tenants step inside, they are met with an instant sense of calm. Spaces Hennessy Road’s minimalist design creates a real sense of flow around the openplan area. Keeping it free from clutter is central to maintaining an oasis of calm for tenants to stop, think and create amid the buzz of Wan Chai. A minimalistic aesthetic is beautiful not only because it’s carefully edited, but because of the positive effect it has on people’s minds.

Keeping it green

One of Spaces’ beauty essentials is our obsession with indoor plants. We’re a huge advocate of getting as much greenery into our workspaces as possible – studies have shown it can boost people’s cognitive state by 26%, and that working in a beautiful, green location can reduce sickness-related absences by 30%. Check out any of Spaces’ four locations in Singapore –  three more coming soon – and you’ll see why they’re fit for the Garden City.

Lightness and brightness

Large windows, light wooden furnishings and fresh colour schemes are also part of the Spaces’ DNA. Natural light has been found to be a huge stress buster, so we employ it to the max wherever possible to improves the wellbeing of our tenants. And we’ll always keep things bright and airy with our design choices. Our recent and imminent openings in Hanoi , Taipei and Kuala Lumpur are all fantastic examples.

Stylish furniture

Contemporary, sophisticated, well-made, eclectic furniture is the icing on the cake. A workspace’s choice of furniture says so much about the knowledge and taste of those who run it, and the kind of vibe they are trying to create. At Spaces, our furniture is a huge opportunity to feed our tenants’ creativity, so having a choice of attractive, comfortable, well-thought-out zones for them to work in is a must.

A place to work should be so much more than a spot to put your laptop. At Spaces, we believe a beautifully designed workspace does wonders for productivity.  Check out our locations in Hong Kong, Singapore and beyond, and see for yourself why Spaces has been named one of the most beautiful co-working hubs in Asia.
