ATT: The Workforce Edition – Meet the speakers

It’s not old news that a happier workforce leads to a productive workforce, and that productivity leads to the further success and progression of your business.  This round of Amsterdam Talks Tech will  fill your brains with the lowdown of how to keep the people happy, and show us that culture is the new currency. Looking for a new job and scouting for new talent should be driven by an innovative search for the right people; to provide them with new energies and deliver your team with new inspiration. Here’s the line-up of speakers we’ve invited to share their brain food.

Jorg Ruis – culture builders

In 2018 it’s sometimes hard to pick a gap in the market. With so much competition it can be hard to set yourselves aside from the big boys and girls. But, as well pointed out by Jorg Ruis, founder of Culture Builders, ‘the barrier of entry in almost any market is now lower than ever and the way companies create value has shifted as well. Internet companies and startups around the world show that winning is not about power and size, but about creativity and innovation.’ And, quite frankly, I couldn’t agree more. Being young, wide-eyed and seizing as many opportunities as possible, it’s astonishing how much a passionate team in a creative and innovative environment can make people evolve, in comparison to those that don’t. It’s important to show people their purpose, and teach them to find one. Culture Builders help curate a fascinating work place to allow your people to grow.

Dr. Marcia Goddard – YoungCapital

There’s a fine balance to be had between intuition and research. Dr. Marcia Goddard is a Neuroscientist at YoungCapital where she combines scientific research driven and combined by practical applications of human behaviour. Usually we perceive scientific research to be conducted in labs and give us answers related to concepts ‘lay people’ don’t see the benefits of (unless it’s medicinal). That’s where Marcia’s efforts come in.  Her work in HR helps curate and utilise the environments for young people to thrive in, assessing how they tick and what environments can work best.

Laurent Scholten – Wonderkind

Previously known as Recruitz, Wonderkind helps you scout for the finest talent by generating job ads for the people you need. Channeling the most helpful insights available to us on the world wide web in order to fuel your search for the perfect team player. Wonderkind works via the means of merging programmatic buying, artificial intelligence and access to a wide variety of online media channels, they offer results  you’re after and prevent you from missing lifetime opportunities. Laurent Scholten is founder and CEO of Wonderkind and is here to talk to us about what it means to her to help scout the best talent in the best ways possible.

Nadja MulLer-den Blijker – iThrive

Stepping into the realms of technology again and the assistance of AI, Nadja is founder and CEO of iThrive. iThrive develop digital training for modern society health challenges such as lifestyle related problems as stress, stroke, diabetes, obesity, etc. iThrive operates on a behaviour change model that has proven to be 5 times more effective than the golden standard. Even the happiest and passionate employees experience a burnout every now and again, it’s part of human nature. With the assistance of iThrive, their model helps you avoid and reduce the number and intensity of the burnouts you face.

Thomas Moes – Homerun

As for Homerun, Spaces can vouch for their helpful and streamlined approach to recruitment. Thomas Moes, co-founder of Homerun, will be here to help share his views of how recruiting needs to change. Gone should be the days of drowsy bullet pointed criteria and in are the days of creating thoughtful narratives to engage your potential team. People are beginning to focus on admiral places to work, opposed to the monotonous drag and getting lost in the crowd of their co-workers. Creating juicy and exciting job boards is a great way to capture those looking for more than just a dreary desk to set up camp.

So, if you’re stuck in a workforce limbo, content but not thriving, then come and join us to learn new and exciting perspectives to help recruit the dream team at our next edition of Amsterdam Talks Tech. Grab your ticket here!
