Spaces x TEDxAmsterdam Talks

TEDxAmsterdam & Spaces teamed up to present Marc de Hond , Jacqueline Hamelink, and Sezer Karaoğlu, three distinguished TEDxAmsterdam speakers who will shared their stories and experiences from the social heart of Spaces Vijzelstraat.

Spaces Co-founder Martijn Roordink welcomed guests in the business club, and TEDxAmsterdam Program Coordinator, Monique van Dusseldorp, presented the concept of the evening’s event.

Marc de Hond shared his powerful message that every person has the extraordinary power to adapt to extreme situations, in both body and mind. People often praise him for being so strong in accepting this fate, but Marc believes that this is not an exceptional power that belongs only to exceptional people. He believes that everyone has the strength to do exceptional things. What you need are three things: a spark of optimism, time and effort, and the support of others.

Jacqueline Hamelink of Sounding Bodies is a cellist who can’t seem to sit still. Originally working in the classical music world, she is always passionate about exploring new musical idioms and a wide range of theatrical forms. Inspired by musical theatre, she moves on the edge of music, dance, theatre and visual art. She gave a moving and engaging performance to a captivated audience.

Sezer Karaoğlu is co-founder and CTO of #3DUniversum, an Amsterdam based startup that specialises in state-of-the-art 3D computer vision technology. Sezer presented the rapidly evolving field of computer vision, through an interactive demonstration and stimulating visual elements.

We enjoyed drinks and stimulating talks in an intimate environment. Are you interested in more events like this? Keep your eye on our events page for more of what’s to come this summer.
