Round #1 North Korea
We know about a damaged people, the threat of nuclear warfare and human rights violations. We know about Pyongyang, propaganda and indoctrination. We know about military parades, the Korean war and “Great Leaders” named Kim. But do we really know the story? What is happening exactly in the northern part of the Korean Peninsula?
About the speaker
Presenting Remco Breuker, Professor of Korean Studies and Chair of the Korean Studies Department at the University of Leiden. Using his vast knowledge of Korea, he will explain how the Kim dynasty rose to power and managed to hold the country hostage for so many years.
