It’s finally happening: Spaces is coming to Utrecht in 2020. And sometimes, more really is better. That was our train of thoughts when we decided to welcome these brand-new Spaces in a pair.
it doesn’t get more central than Utrecht
Utrecht, the fourth largest city in the Netherlands, might secretly be the most important city in the country. Draw a cross on a map of The Netherlands, and close to where the lines intersect you’ll find Utrecht. Found halfway across the country from north to south, and from east to west alike, the practicalities are not going unnoticed here. For good reason, as its central position has made it one of the best-connected cities in the country. Combine that with Amsterdam getting more crowded by the minute, increasing traffic and the growing number of commuters, and you’ll begin to understand why more and more companies are branching out to Utrecht.
Location, location, location
Right outside Utrecht Centraal, the largest and most vital train station in The Netherlands, you’ll find the first Spaces on the Daalsesingel. This business hub, located towards the east of Centraal, will provide a brand new homebase for over an estimated 250 businesses, divided across 8.254 square metres of business space. Originally built in 1964, Spaces will be completely refurbishing the building so that it can be used sustainably. This Spaces should raise ears for anyone who’s looking to be in the heart of the action at all times.
Urban planning of the future
We’re doubling down with Spaces Wonderwoods. The property itself is yet to be built, but the sheer impact of its concept makes more than up for it. It is found on the opposite side of Utrecht Centraal from the Daalsesingel, where constructions for two green towers are expected to start in early 2020. And there’s no denying that these towers are green alright. This one-of-a-kind project will be home to a broad community, exactly as is intended by the municipality of Utrecht. Apart from workplaces, it will feature apartments, eateries, a museum and a truly green urban jungle. The “all-purpose” nature of the project makes this one truly special, so watch this location closely.
